Journey from Paris to Java (Voyage de Paris a Java)
Treaty of the modern stimulants
by Honoré de Balzac
The author's journey to Java is purely imaginary. In this reverie Balzac propels us into a fanciful Orient of eternal Spring with its luxurious palaces, virgin forests, seductive and dangerous Javanese girls, Bengalis covered in gold, the fragrance of the volcameria . . . So far unpublished. The treaty whic h forms the second part of the book is mainly devoted to coffee.
